NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Metro Rail Above Ground Service Suspension Begins Sunday
Metro Rail service will be suspended above ground between Allen Station and DL&W Station from Sunday, February 15, through Saturday, February 21, to accommodate the safe removal of the pedestrian bridge spanning Main Street near Eagle Street.
The temporary service adjustment is necessary to ensure the safety of passengers, construction crews, and the surrounding community during this significant infrastructure project. To maintain connectivity for riders throughout the project, the following accommodations will be in place:
- Free shuttle bus service will operate between Allen Station and Canalside
- Metro Bus Route 8 will be free for all passengers traveling south of Allen Station.
Passengers are encouraged to:
- Allow for additional travel time, especially during peak hours.
- Follow posted signage at stations for updated boarding locations.
Listen for station announcements and monitor official communication channels for real-time service updates.
Metro Rail service below ground will continue to operate as scheduled during this time.
The pedestrian bridge removal is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve public infrastructure in the downtown corridor. Transit officials have coordinated closely with city partners to ensure the work is completed as efficiently and safely as possible.
For the latest updates, shuttle schedules, and additional service information, riders are encouraged to sign up for Metro Alerts, follow Metro social media channels, or contact Customer Service at 716-855-7211
