NFTA-Metro to Host 2024 NYPTA Conference

BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) is proud to announce it will host this year’s New York Public Transit Association (NYPTA) Annual Conference from October 15-17, 2024, at the Buffalo Convention Center. This prestigious event brings together transportation professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the state to discuss the future of public transit.

This year’s theme, Beyond the Route: Ideas, Insights, and Innovations in Public Transit, aligns with the NFTA s commitment to enhancing regional mobility and reducing the carbon footprint while promoting accessible transit for all communities. The conference will feature a series of expert panels, keynote addresses, and interactive workshops that cover the latest trends and technologies transforming public transit, including electric buses and transit-oriented development.

“We are excited to welcome transportation professionals from across the state to Buffalo”, said James Morrell Director of Public Transportation for the NFTA. “Public transit is critical to the vitality of our communities and this conference will be an excellent platform to share ideas and innovations that will shape the future of our industry.”

The conference will also highlight exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies, products, and services designed to enhance public transportation systems.

As the host city, Buffalo offers a unique opportunity to showcase the NFTA’s efforts to provide innovative public transportation solutions, such as the expansion of its light rail system and the implementation of electric buses. For more information visit this year’s event, visit nytransit.org
