Powered by Women: NFTA Unveils Women’s History Month Bus
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) unveiled a specially wrapped Metro bus honoring the achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions of women throughout Western New York. The bus debut coincides with the celebration of Women’s History Month and serves as a tribute to the many women who help shape the region every day.
The bus was revealed on Friday morning during a ceremony at Cold Springs Garage. The initiative was created through a partnership between the NFTA and the Western New York Women’s Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing gender equity and supporting women and girls across the region.
Government officials joined NFTA leadership and representatives from several local organizations to commemorate the unveiling. The event recognized the countless women—past and present—whose leadership, advocacy, and dedication have strengthened Western New York’s communities.
The bus wrap, prominently displayed on a Metro bus that will travel routes across the NFTA system, features imagery and messaging that celebrates the strength and resilience of women. As it moves through neighborhoods across Buffalo and Erie County, the bus will serve as a visible reminder of the vital role women play in shaping workplaces, families, and communities.
From public service and education to business, transportation, and grassroots advocacy, women continue to lead change and inspire progress. The commemorative bus also highlights the contributions of women working within the transportation industry and recognizes the important role they play in keeping Western New York moving every day.
As the newly wrapped bus enters service, it will act as a moving symbol of empowerment and recognition—spotlighting the influence of women and honoring those who continue to inspire change.
Through initiatives like this, the NFTA seeks to elevate the stories of the people who power the region while reinforcing its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement.
