Rail Renewal: Rider Alerts



Rail Renewal

Metro Rail Single Tracking: Service will run about every 20 minutes.

Above Ground (Downtown Area):

Trains are running on a single track between Church and Canalside stations.

DL&W Station is closed.

At Church, Seneca, and Canalside:

Trains in both directions will use the outbound platform (toward University).

The inbound platforms are closed — please wait on the outbound side.

Below Ground:

Trains are single tracking between Humboldt-Hospital and Allen-Medical Campus.

Please wait on the inbound platform in this section.

Fare-Free Bus Option:

Route 8 Main buses are free between Allen Station and Canalside.

Accessibility Notice for Riders Using Mobility Devices

  • If you are boarding at an underground station and traveling to Church, Seneca, or Canalside:
    Please board the rear car of the train.
  • If you are boarding at Fountain Plaza or Lafayette and traveling to Church, Seneca, or Canalside:
    You will need to:
    • Transfer to an outbound train at Allen Station, or
    • Use the Route 8 Main bus.

Rail Alerts

Metro is changing the way Rail Alerts are received. The new METRO RAIL route subscription allows you to customize what alerts you receive.

How to sign up for the new Rail Alerts:
Visit metro.nfta.com/alerts/subscribe, and sign in to your account. Click the Create Subscription button in the upper right corner.

Select METRO RAIL from the Routes dropdown. Choose the days and times you want to receive alerts.
Click Create Subscription.

Church Street Station main platform closed for construction.

Church Street Station will be under construction until 2026. Please use temporary platforms to board the rail. Click here and here for renderings of the new station design.
