CRAM Pass
As part of its continuing efforts to meet the needs of the college community, NFTA Metro currently offers colleges the opportunity to participate in our college/university transit pass program, College Riders Accessing Metro (CRAM). The transit pass program provides all students at participating colleges unlimited access to the Metro Bus and Rail system, seven days a week at a significantly discounted rate. Students of participating colleges can use their Metro transit passes to commute to school, work or anywhere Metro services without having to pay additional fees.
How it Works
On an annual basis Metro provides the administration at participating colleges with unlimited access transit passes for the entire undergraduate student body. The front of the passes are customized with a college logo, an individual student's photo with name and an expiration date. Each pass contains a coded computer chip that enables the "Tap and Go" feature for seamless access to the bus and rail system.
Passes belong only to the individual students they are issued to, and are non-transferable.
Student college passes may be disabled on an individual basis if they are lost, stolen, used fraudulently or if the student withdraws from the college.
Participating colleges are invoiced near the latter portion of each semester based on the appropriate enrollment data.

CRAM Pass FAQs
What is the College/University Unlimited Access Pass Program?
The College/University Pass Program provides students at participating institutions with unlimited access to the Metro Bus and Rail system, seven days a week throughout the school year—without additional fares or transfer fees.
Whether traveling for school, work, shopping, errands, dining, or leisure, Metro offers an easy, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly way to get around. Please note that student transit passes do not apply to Metro special services.
How does the program work?
Each new school year NFTA-Metro provides participating schools with Metro transit passes for their students. Each pass contains a coded computer chip that enables the "Tap and Go" feature for seamless access to the bus and rail system. The front of the card is customized to include the name and/or logo for your college, student photo, ID number and pass expiration date.
How do I use my pass?
When using Metro Bus, simply board any Metro Bus "Tap and Go" with the card on the farebox upon boarding. On Metro Rail, "Tap and Go" with the card on the faregate terminal upon entering the rail station.
If you are riding Metro Rail and do not have your pass when asked by Metro personnel, you could be charged with fare evasion which carries a stiff penalty. In addition, students must always have supporting picture identification in addition to their Metro Transit Pass.
Can someone else use my pass if I am not using it?
No, your Metro pass is only for your use. The pass is non-transferable. If your pass is found to be used fraudulently, it will be revoked by the operator, reported to the college and further privileges may be lost.
What if I lose my pass or it becomes damaged?
If you lose your transit pass, or if it is damaged or cracked, you should report it to the appropriate office at your college immediately. The pass will then be invalidated in the system. A replacement pass may be purchased for a fee. This fee must be paid with a check or money order.
