NFTA-Metro partners with Transit app to upgrade rider experience

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BUFFALO, N.Y.- Buffalo riders using the Transit app will get a major upgrade to their digital experience as the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and Transit announce their new partnership.

The collaboration makes Transit the recommended app for NFTA riders through Royale sponsorship. With Royale, riders gain FREE access to unlimited departure schedules, additional trip planning options, custom app themes and icons, and more. NFTA can also communicate with riders through the app, keeping them informed of important changes and events as they happen.

“This partnership represents another step forward in making NFTA-Metro more accessible for our riders.” Says Michael Pal, Director of Public Transit, NFTA-Metro. “With this enhanced service, we are removing barriers and ensuring our riders have the most accurate, up-to-date information right at their fingertips.”

“Our mission has always been to help people get around without their own car,” said Sam Vermette, CEO of Transit. “Every month, we help 8 million people around the world navigate their cities by bus, train, foot, bike, and more, and that wouldn’t be possible without our agency partners. We’re proud to be working hand in hand with NFTA to deliver the best app experience for their riders.

The Transit app helps users easily navigate public transit in 1000 cities in 28 countries around the world with multi-modal trip planning, nearby departure times, and gamification features that let users climb the leaderboards on their daily commute.

Transit and NFTA are also improving the rider experience through:

● Automated detour detection and display: NFTA riders also benefit from Transit’s AI-powered detour detection, which shows unplanned detours on the map after vehicles go off route in the same pattern.

● Easy ticketing: Riders can check and pay their fare in Transit, making every journey a seamless experience.

The NFTA and Transit will continue working in tandem to make public transit more reliable and easier to use in Buffalo. For more information about Transit Royale and NFTA’s services, visit https://metro.nfta.com
